The Ida knit is an essential in Coffee Beanie's range of products. Hand knitted (of course) with beautiful raglan shoulder. Light and airy in brushed alpaca wool from Italy.
The Ida knit is handmade by women in Burundi as "work as the solution". Surrounded by her children, the woman can earn a week's worth of food for the whole family from home by creating it. Each knit is therefore unique and may vary slightly from knit to knit. African craftsmanship is the foundation of Coffee Beanies' identity.
Quality: The alpaca is the best source of wool. It is gentle in its environment, drinks very little water and eats only the outer twigs over a large area. The wool is the most temperate wool of all. So it's perfect for our changeable weather. At the same time, it holds water up to 40% of its own weight without losing its ability to keep you warm. The yarn for the sweaters is brushed wool with alpaca wool and sheep wool and some polyamide or nylon to give the products durability for many uses.
Size: Medium - We have asked the knitters to aim for the following measurements:55 cm. wide and 54 cm. long. The sleeves are slightly longer than standard.
Washing instructions: We always recommend that you hand wash and line dry our products.
